Namchi

Namchi is a tourist hotspot is Sikkim known for its picturesque location and vast stretches of beautiful valleys. According to legends Chungthang was the meeting place of Guru Rimpoche and Lepcha chieftain Thekung Tek. The valley starting from Chungthang has been believed to be blessed by Guru Rimpoche. Places worth a visit in Chungthang are a rock on which, according to legend, Guru Padmasambhava rested and imprinted his footmark. There is a small opening on the rock which remains filled with water and there is vast stretch of lands where paddy is cultivated.
